League Season 1 has been declared foul because we are all anxious to start Season 2 (ladder) soon.

Season 1 was a great experiment in what clans will put up with. I recognize there were many bumps in the road to Season 2, but we are stronger for it.

Season 2 features:
-Ladder system
-Clan-scheduled matches
-Less referee interference
-Recorded clan stats on the league website
-Implementation of the ELO ranking system (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elo_rating_system)
-Clans play as both NF and BE on each map played to ensure fairness

Clan signups are now closed, and Season 1 of the Empires League will begin on December 22! The following four clans have signed up for the league, and will be playing in the following order:

    * The Brenodi Sixth Infantry Division
    * Jekotian Prime Legion
    * Strategic Elimination of Enemy Units
    * Commonwealth Warriors

Eight official Empires maps will be used for season one. You can view the official League map here

There will not be spectator slots available on the server, but there will be a SourceTV feed running with a five-minute delay, to prevent ghosting from non-players. All referees and players will be recording the game, and the demos will be made available to the public afterward.

Empires 2.0 has been released, and we are organising the first league season!
Do you have an Empires clan and want to play some nice clanbattles? Feel free to sign-up here!

Your clan needs a minimum of 10 players to compete in the league, you can read a complete list of the rules here.

Make sure to sign up before 10PM GMT (5PM EST) on 14 Dec because the season will kick-off 15 Dec !

If you are a new clan and do not have a website yet, say so when you signup and we can provide you with a forum. (e.g. clanname.empiresleague.com)

We hope to see you on the battlefield!

To continue the hype surrounding the impending release of Empires Mod 2.0, the new promotional trailer is now available from gametrailers.com. I would recommend investing a little bandwidth in the high-quality version, just to get the full effect. It shows many new elements of 2.0, but due to the insane pace of development it is already outdated.

What is missing? Well I guess you'll just have to download Empires on the 30th and find out...

Coffeeburrito has finished work on the dynamic season gameboard map. It can be found here: http://www.empiresleague.com/empiresmap.html

Also, news from Krenzo points towards Empires 2.0 (previously known as 1.08) being released relatively shortly. This means league play relatively shortly + 1 week!
